The 2009 Budget Statement
April 22nd
It
will take 30 years to pay off the debt that this Government has
foisted on us and our children. And their only plan is to publish a
forecast which says that the economy will grow by double the average
rate in the years after the election. This is the politics of deceit
and spin. The money wasted is not a "fiscal stimulus" it is a binge of
ill thought out programmes and a massive expansion of bureaucracy.
The country deserves an election now.

Appleton Man Wins Humanitarian Award
April 16th
Appleton resident Kulwant Dhalliwal was recently presented with a major award by Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party, The Rt Hon.William Hague MP. The award was in recognition of Mr Dhalliwal's work in his village in the Punjab over the past 5 years. A particular success has been the work done to help address the issue of female infanticide in which some families abort unborn female babies. In Kulwants home village the boy girl ration has now improved to the point that there are more girls than boys. A major achievement.
William Hague said "
I am delighted to make this award to a man
this has achieved so much not in one country but two......."

As well as talking to residents about issues of concern to the community Conservatives collected several hundred signatures for their petition demanding that the upcoming budget addresses the multiple attacks which have taken place in recent months and years on pensioners and savers.
David Mowat says "this Government inheirited the best pension systen in the world........Brown has trashed it to pay for his army of bureaucrats. And more recently he has attacked savers too. Interest rates are very low but still he taxes the tiny amounts received.......this is unfair".
Conservaites are calling for an increase in the tax allowance for pensioners and an end to the unfair tax on savings.
