The survey is the brainchild of Parish councillor, Stephen Taylor who said “for sometime the village has been developing in ways that many disagree with….I wanted to give the residents a say it how they would like to see the village change over the next few years……..this survey will be used as the basis for the production of a village plan which will provide a benchmark for future development…..I am delighted with the response so far”

Of the 8 subject areas covered by the survey, the highest priority responses were focused on the character of the village, with a desire to see a more varied and wider cross section of business types in the village, better parking and traffic control and toilet facilities being the residents top 3.

Residents commented

“Illegal parking in the village is a big problem, especially near the chip shops and Sainsbury’s. This needs to be clamped down!”

“Saving and restoring historic items in the village will help save the village identity at very little cost”

“We are concerned that the village is becoming filled with ha9irdressesr, estate agents, and eating places. largely due to the high rent being charged. This is what happened to Knutsford, where we moved from.”
